Rural Trump Supporters Now Feel Abandoned By Trump, ‘He Lies So Much’

President Trump’s approval numbers are lower than any first-year President in the history of modern polling, and they’ve been in the 30’s for some time now. For that to happen, a significant number of Trump voters are continually dissatisfied with how he is running the country.

But many of them are having trouble connecting his policies with their struggles, such as the need for a higher minimum wage, which Trump wants to do away with altogether.

He promised farmers he would help them by renegotiating NAFTA. Now, agricultural organizations are realizing that NAFTA is integral to their industry and are desperate to save it. They were warned that they would lose as much as $18 billion in products exported to Mexico, but during the election, they remained silent, believing that Trump would just make sure the new NAFTA negotiation would leave agriculture the way it was.

Not only is that not happening, but Trump wants to pull out of NAFTA altogether. And the pleas of farmers who will lose their livelihoods aren’t reaching Trump.
Trump called farmers one of the “forgotten” people of America. Maybe what he meant was that, in his mind, they were doing okay for too long, and someone must have forgotten to make them suffer.
